INTRODUCTION

Text I

Ова е мое. - This is mine.
Земи ја мојата книга. - Take my book.
Оваа книга е мојата. - This book is mine.
Земи го мојот молив. - Take my pencil.
Овој молив е мојот. - This pencil is mine.

Text II

Јас имам нова книга. - I have a new book.
Книгата е многу интересна. - The book is very interesting.
Книгата е моја. - The book is mine.
Оваа книга е моја.   or   Книгава е моја. - This is my book. ; This book is mine.
Онаа книга е моја. or Книгана е моја. - That is my book. ; That book is mine.
Книгава е твоја. - This is your book.
Земи ја книгава. - Take this book.
Земи ја книгана. / Земи ја книгата. - Take that book.

Note:
мој, твој, негов, нејзин, наш, ваш, нивенgo with singular masculine nouns
моја, твоја, негова, нејзина, наша, ваша, нивнаgo with singular feminine nouns
мое, твое, негово, нејзино, наше, ваше, нивноgo with singular neuter nouns
мои, твои, негови, нејзини, наши, ваши, нивниgo with plural nouns of the three grammatical genders

Sample:

клуч - masculine noun - key :
Овој клуч е мој. - This key is mine.
Ова е мој клуч. - This is my key.

книга - feminine noun - book :
Оваа книга е моја. - This book is mine.
Ова е моја книга. or Ова е мојата книга. - This is my book.
Овие книги се мои. - These books are mine.
Ова се моите книги. - These are my books.

куче - neuter noun - dog :
Ова куче е мое. - This dog is mine.
Ова е мое куче. - This is my dog.

DEFINITE ARTICLE

The Suffixed Definite Article is a characteristic feature of the Macedonian literary standard language. There are three forms for each gender in singular and plural.

For example:
      - Singular:
           - книга (kniga) - singular feminine noun, meaning a book
           книгата (knigata), meaning the book
           книгава (knigava), meaning “the book near me”
           книгана (knigana), meaning “the book over there”
      - Plural:
           - книги (knigi) - plural feminine noun, meaning books
           книгите (knigite), meaning the books
           книгиве (knigive), meaning “the books near me”
           книгине (knigine), meaning “the books over there”

gender - род	Singular - еднина	Plural - множина
masculine	-от -ов -он	-те -ве -не
feminine	-та -ва -на	-те -ве -не
neuter	-то -во -но	-та -ва -на

Sample 1:

Има книга на масата. (Ima kniga na masata.) - There is a book on the table.
Книгата е на масата. (Knigata e na masata.) - The book is on the table.

Sample 2:

клуч - masculine noun - key :
Клучот е мој. - The key is mine. / That key is mine.
Клучов е мој. - This key is mine.
Клучон е мој. - That key is mine.   ...

книга - feminine noun - book : Книгата е моја. - The book is mine. / That book is mine.
Книгава е моја. - This book is mine.
Книгана е моја. - That book is mine.
Книгите се мои. - The books are mine.   ...

куче - neuter noun - dog : Кучето е мое. - The dog is mine. / That dog is mine.
Кучево е мое. - This dog is mine.
Кучено е мое. - That dog is mine.
Кучињава се мои. - These dogs are mine.
Кучињана се мои. - Those dogs are mine.

Note: When adjective or possessive pronoun is used before the noun then the Definite Articles go to the adjective or to the possessive pronoun.

Sample 3:

куче - noun - dog ; кучиња - noun,plural - dogs
бело - adjective - white ; бели - adjective,plural - white
мое - possessive pronoun - my, mine

Кучето е мое. - The dog is mine.
Белото куче е мое. - The white dog is mine.
Кучево е мое. - This dog is mine.
Белово куче е мое. - This white dog is mine.
Беливе кучиња се мои. - These white dogs are mine.
Моето куче е бело. - My dog is white.

THE PREPOSITION НА (NA)

The most used preposition in the Macedonian language is the preposition НА (NA). This preposition has a lot of grammatical functions and meanings:

a) Јана е на училиште. (Jana e na uchilishte.) - Jana is at school.
a) На Божик. (Na Bozhik.) - At Christmas.
a) На масата. (Na masata.) - On the table.
b) Тоа го кажав на шега. (Toa go kazhav na shega.) - I said it as a joke.
c) Ќе одам на пливање. (Kje odam na plivanje.) - I will go to swim ("to take a swim").
d) Ова е колата на Георги. (Ova e kolata na Georgi.) - This is the Georgi's car (the car of Georgi).
e) На кого му го кажа тоа? (Na kogo mu go kazha toa?) - To whom did you tell it?
f) Му кажав на Георги. (Mu kazhav na Gerogi.) - I told (to) Georgi.
